Explorer’s Club: Science Adventures for Toddlers + Caregivers
Tuesdays at 10AM - Classes start March 3rd
Location: That Creative Space, 333 Fishkill Ave, Beacon, NY
Registration Required - Spots are Limited.
Explorer’s Club is a joyful weekly science class for children ages 1–4 and their caregivers, centered on theme-based play that brings early science concepts to life through curiosity and hands-on exploration.
Toddlers are encouraged to observe, get messy, and explore at their own pace, with a grown-up right alongside them. Themes rotate throughout the season and may include space, dinosaurs, nature, animals, and more, creating a cozy, welcoming environment where little learners build confidence, curiosity, and a love of discovery.
Each Explorer's Club follows a gentle, predictable rhythm that helps toddlers feel comfortable, confident, and excited to explore:
Free play as children warm up to the space and each other
Storytime connected to the day’s theme
Guided exploration time
A simple science experiment
Hands-on activities and sensory bins
A sticker to signal the end of our time together.
Rotating theme-based activities, including music, movement, crafts, or food exploration
Children are encouraged to observe, get messy, test ideas, and explore materials at their own pace, while caregivers stay nearby for support, smiles, and shared discovery.
Hosted by Science Club Hudson Valley, led by Jemile—Ms. Jem to the little ones—is a Gen X Brooklyn-born mama of three whose parenting journey spans more than three decades. With children aged 31, 23, and almost 10, she has experienced raising kids across the 1990s, Y2K, and 2010s—each decade bringing its own joys, challenges, and discoveries.
Her roots in Food Studies and community work blend seamlessly with her role as co-founder of Baby Science Club, where she creates joyful, hands-on experiences for little ones ages 0–4. Through storytime, sensory play, and simple experiments, she invites toddlers and their caregivers to explore the world with curiosity—channeling the same wonder she has nurtured in her own children over the years.
Classes are held at That Creative Space—a new art space in Beacon offering shared studio space, hands-on workshops, and creative community events. It’s a welcoming place where kids and grown-ups alike can explore, imagine, and connect.
